Jon Van Doren, Ph.D., CBIST

Dr. Van Doren received his doctorate in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Victoria in 1992, and has been a licensed psychologist in the state of Arizona since 1993.

He has over 20 years of experience in neuropsychological evaluation and treatment, specializing in the assessment of brain injury acquired through trauma, stroke, dementia, and other neurological conditions. He is particularly interested in the assessment of suspected mild traumatic brain injury, and in distinguishing early dementia from the effects of normal aging. He also places an emphasis on going beyond the process of assessment, providing practical recommendations for treatment or lifestyle enhancement whenever possible.

Dr. Van Doren’s educational experience includes work in the areas of Clinical Neuropsychology and Applied Behavior Analysis, with research interests in the areas of cognitive remediation and the generalization of treatment gains.

In addition to his clinical practice at Arizona Neuropsychology, Dr. Van Doren has served as Director of Neuropsychology for the Rehab Without Walls® neurorehabilitation program since 1995. He has also been a clinical adjunct faculty member of the Arizona School of Professional Psychology, Argosy University, since 2000. He has over 12 years of experience providing training to postdoctoral residents, interns, and practicum students in Clinical Neuropsychology and Brain Injury Rehabilitation.
